Your safety is our number one priority at Subaru of Niagara, and we want to make sure that the Subaru that you’re driving is as safe as can be as well.

Subaru Canada is advising owners of 2016 models of the Legacy and Outback vehicles not to drive them because there could be some internal issues related to the steering. The company is in the process of recalling about 3,500 vehicles in the 2016 Legacy and 2016 Outback series.

A notice on the Transport Canada website stated the following regarding the recall;

“On certain vehicles, steering column components may not have been manufactured to specification and therefore may not engage correctly, which could result in a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Owners are advised to not drive their vehicle until an inspection of the steering column has been completed.”

The recall covers 2016 Legacys and Outbacks made from Feb. 29, 2016 to May 6, 2016.

Although Subaru Canada will contact the  owners of the affected vehicles directly, if you have questions about your 2016 Legacy or 2016 Outback, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly at 905-934-7829.
