Subaru recently announced the release of it’s newest performance sedan, the 2016 WRX. The latest model boasts numerous technologies to enhance the driver experience with improved response, sharper handling and superior control.
Starting at $29,995, the WRX is available in three trim levels. The entry level WRX offers an audio system with 6.2-inch high-resolution touchscreen display, STARLINK smartphone integration, updated steering wheel-integrated controls and a one-touch turn signal.
Stepping up to the WRX Sport Package adds door mirrors with LED-integrated turn signals and the Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection System (SRVD) that features Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Side mirrors feature LED indicators and an audible warning that alerts the driver of vehicles in their blind spot or when changing lanes.
The top level WRX Sport-tech Package ups the ante with new 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels and upgraded suspension. An upgraded audio system features a 7-inch high-resolution capacitive touchscreen display with GPS navigation system, dual USB port/iPod control, auxiliary audio input, SMS text messaging capability and SiriusXM Satellite Radio with a free 3-month trial subscription.
For superior sport performance, the all WRX models are powered by a 268-horsepower 2.0-litre direct-injection turbocharged (DIT) SUBARU BOXER engine, available in a six-speed manual transmission or a sport-tuned Sport Lineartronic automatic transmission featuring smooth shifting and an impressive 8-speed manual shift mode with sharp shifting response.
The 2016 WRX offers a variety of features for all-around safety.
