It’s coming this summer: the all new 2018 Subaru WRX STI is coming to Subaru dealerships across Canada. The model should hit dealerships in the early months of summer. It will be offered in four trims: WRX STI, STI Sport, STI Sport-tech with Wing Spoiler, and STI Sport-tech with Lip Spoiler.
The 2018 sport sedan has been given new updated looks, increased usability for the interior and exterior, and features many enhancements for a better performance and driving experience.
Subaru WRX STI offers a thrilling driving experience
Subaru fans will love the 2018 WRX STI for its exciting driving experience. The 305-horsepower, 2.5 liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine comes with a high capacity intercooler. The model also features a 6-speed manual transmission, a symmetrical full-time All Wheel Drive system and a revised multi-mode driver controlled center.
The all-new model also features and Active Torque Vectoring system, which supplements the AWD system. This offers improved cornering and more precise handling, to keep our Subaru customers comfortable while driving. Multi-mode Vehicle Dynamics Control offers Subaru drivers precision and control while driving.
Brand new features for 2018
The features in the all new 2018 Subaru WRX STI differ on the trim level that is purchased. Drivers who opt for the WRX STI receive a number of improvements to the driving experience, such as revised suspension tuning, and improved noise reduction within the cabin of the model. It also features a larger capacity battery, revised front bumper and door trim, and an updated front grille with new lower grille bezel featuring air intakes, as well as a new roof bracket.
The WRX STI Sport is offered with 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a 10-way power driver’s seat, as well as wiper-activated automatic headlights. Another feature that has been improved for the Sport trim is an addition of more air intakes, which take the place of removed fog lights.
The WRX STI Sport-tech levels, both with Wing or Lip Spoiler come with the same new features. Both trims feature 8-way power driver’s seats, leather and Ultrasuede Recaro performance front seats. New StarLink apps have been added, such as Yelp, Best Parking, and Glympse.
All trims come with Brembo performance brakes with 6-piston front calipers, 2-piston rear calipers, and cross-drilled rotors. All trims also feature steering-responsive headlights that improve cornering visibility following the turn of the car.
