The ratings
The front small overlap scored “Good” in the 2017 Impreza, as well as front moderate overlap also scoring “Good”. The optional front crash prevention system, an add-on feature to the car earned a “Superior” rating, so if you’re looking for the safest car you can get, don’t skip out on this feature!
The new model also scored “Good” in tests to measure safety in side impact, roof strength, and rear impact. The headlights also scored the same result when tested. Unlike other years testing, the 2017 models needed to have their headlights score an “Acceptable” or “Good” in order to qualify for a Top Safety Pick award.
The model also received a “Good+” rating for it’s ease of use of Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) hardware. This hardware is used for the installation of child restraints. Having this high score makes the 2017 Subaru Impreza the only small car in the 2017 market able to obtain top ratings in every evaluation.

The 2017 Impreza model starts at $19,995 as a base price, but many of these exclusive safety features are typically added on with packages. To get the EyeSight safety feature as well as adaptive headlights you’ll have to pay a little extra.
